Strengthen your innovative power with our IP Academy
At a time when innovation and intellectual property (IP) protection are indispensable for business success, V.O. Patents & Trademarks' IP Academy, established in 2015, offers a solution. A training initiative created specifically to provide innovative entrepreneurs, IP managers and other professionals responsible for IP within their organizations with up-to-date knowledge and practical tools.
“Our mission with the IP Academy is clear: to give entrepreneurs and professionals the knowledge and tools to maximize and protect their innovations,” said Henri van Kalkeren, director of the IP Academy.
For beginners and advanced
The IP Academy regularly organizes courses at both basic and advanced levels. During these courses participants are taken into the world of patents, trademarks, designs and related legal issues. The basic course is ideally suited for those taking their first step into the IP domain, or for those wishing to strengthen the foundations of IP policy within the company.
For professionals who already have more experience with IP, the advanced course offers depth. It follows logically from the basic course, but it is not a requirement to have taken it beforehand. The advanced course goes deeper into strategic topics such as licensing, cooperation agreements, subsidy possibilities and tax regulations surrounding IP. This not only gives the participant legal insights, but also practical knowledge to optimally deploy IP within the business strategy. “Especially in a time of rapid technological development, it is essential that IP is not only legally correct, but also used strategically,” continues Van Kalkeren. “We are happy to help with that.”
Practice-oriented
The IP Academy is distinguished by its practice-oriented approach, provided by V.O. experts with years of experience in the field. Thanks to this combination of theory and practice, participants can immediately apply the knowledge gained within their organizations. In addition, it is pleasant and instructive for participants and course instructors to be able to exchange experiences with each other, and to work together on specific issues and cases. The latter is well expressed during the entertaining IP game that is a recurring part of the basic course.
