Introduction IP Leads

This very first IP Leads Special is about litigation, or dispute resolution.

Although only a small proportion of all intellectual property rights result in disputes that need to be resolved in litigation, it is important that every rights holder has this well in mind.

Standing up for your rights

The primary purpose of intellectual property is to create value for the rights holder. This can take many forms, such as generating licensing revenue, maintaining exclusive market segments, or by attracting external funding. When these values are compromised by the behavior and actions of others, it may be necessary to stand up for your rights. On the other hand, of course, intellectual property rights of others may – rightly or wrongly – also get in your way.

In this edition, you will read about various ways to assert your rights. In addition to covering effective preparation for dispute resolution, we also focus on how to avoid litigation whenever possible. This often requires a tailored approach. Our attorneys and lawyers are happy to assist you in this process.
